Papa M to Dave Pajo, niegdyś członek legendarnego Slint, potem także Tortoise, współpracownik wielu asów niezależnej sceny amerykańskiej, w tym na przykład Willa Oldhama, czy Royal Trux. Wcześniej nagrywał pod nazwą Aerial M. Ostatni album artysty, Whatever, Mortal, osadzony jest w stylistyce tradycyjnej, balladowej, stonowanej. Śladu nie ma po dysonansach...
