Wasteland" jest pierwszym studyjnym albumem skomponowanym i nagranym bez udziału zmarłego w lutym 2016 roku współzałożyciela i gitarzysty zespołu Piotra Grudzińskiego. Mimo to na płycie jest zdumiewająco dużo kompozycji opartych na wyrazistych gitarowych riffach.

Już pierwszy utwór, jakim zespół pochwalił się w eterze, rokował muzyczną ucztę. Potem były kolejne dwa, które jeszcze bardziej podsyciły apetyty na całość. Oczywiście zawsze jest ta obawa, że zespół chwali się tym co najlepsze, a reszta, to wypełniacze, podobnie jak w zwiastunach filmów - rokują świetne widowisko, a idąc do kina, okazuje się, że nie...

Doskonały album ... Przepiękny, poetycki, wielowymiarowy... Siódmy w ich dyskografii, pierwszy nagrany w trio, pierwszy po tragedii jaka dotknęła Riverside w 2016 roku, kiedy niespodziewanie odszedł gitarzysta Piotr Grudziński. Zespoły różnie odreagowują traumę po takich ciosach. Dżem po śmierci Ryszarda Riedla nagrał najostrzejszą, najbardziej hardrockową...

Opowiadanie o nowej płycie Riverside jest zadaniem tyle zaszczytnym, co trudnym. Wasteland jest bowiem trudną płytą i aby ją usłyszeć, trzeba spróbować zrozumieć w jakim ten zespół znajduje się miejscu.

Muzycy Riverside zapewniali, że nagrali najbardziej emocjonalną płytę w swojej karierze. Na szczęście nie były to tylko czcze gadki, dzięki czemu udowadniają słuszność stwierdzenia, że emocje są paliwem dla sztuki.

Do premiery nowego albumu Riverside pozostało jeszcze kilka dni a my już wiemy o nim bardzo dużo. I nie chodzi tu tylko o trzy zaprezentowane przedpremierowo kompozycje, które faktycznie sporo mówią o nowym materiale. Bo lider formacji, Mariusz Duda, z dużym pietyzmem przygotował słuchaczy do tego krążka, podpowiadając im to, czego można się po nim...
