Thunderstone został założony na początku roku 2000 przez gitarzystę Nino Laurenne - tylko po to, żeby Nino mógł nagrać kilka swoich nowych piosenek. Po zarejestrowaniu pierwszego dema przekształcił się w "pełnowymiarowy" zespół. Późną jesienią 2000 grupa zarejestrowała w studiu trzy power metalowe utwory, z których muzycy byli bardzo zadowoleni.
