Tak naprawdę nazywa się Nadia Mladjao i urodziła się na Komorach Francuskich (Afryka). Kiedyś była lekkoatletką, potem przez wiele lat modelką. Gdy ostatnie zajęcie znudziło ją kompletnie, postanowiła spróbować sił jako wokalistka, bez żadnego profesjonalnego doświadczenia w tej materii.

Po Zaz kolejna francuska wokalistka szykuje się do podbicia światowej sceny muzyki soul. Jakie szanse ma Imany i jej debiut The Shape of a Broken Heart? Ja powiedziałabym, że bardzo duże, biorąc również pod uwagę furorę jaką wywołała swoim albumem w Polsce. Taka muzyka teraz jest bardzo potrzebna.
