Płonę! Płonie moja dusza, a serce w heroicznym rozpędzie pompuje ostatnie litry krwi. Istnieję już tylko w wyblakłych wspomnieniach, czas dla mnie prawie się zatrzymał, straciłem kolor, ciemność zwyciężyła, triumfuje!

Pewien sceptycyzm jest naturalną reakcją w momencie, gdy zespół zapowiada swój kolejny album jako „najbardziej progresywny dotychczas”. Katatonia to jeden z tych zespołów, na którego kolejne wydawnictwa czekam z wyjątkowym napięciem. Specyficzny depresyjno melancholijny nastrój utworów tej szwedzkiej formacji wyjątkowo łatwo torował sobie ścieżkę do serca a jak było tym razem?

Szwedzka Katatonia należy do tego grona cenionych kapel, które w trakcie swojej bogatej już historii przeszły dosyć wyrazistą stylistyczną transformację. Może i owa przemiana  od  doom metalu do metalu atmosferycznego i klimatycznego przebiegała dosyć ewolucyjnie, niemniej w pamięci odbiorców ich muzyki zapisała się na tyle mocno, że przy okazji premiery...

Dziesiąty studyjny album szwedzkiej Katatonii „The Fall Of Hearts” anonsowany jest jako naturalna kontynuacja „Dead End Kings” sprzed 4 lat. Z tym stwierdzeniem można się zgodzić jednak tylko połowicznie.
