Jeszcze nigdy Candlemass nie kazało czekać fanom tak długo na swoją kolejną płytę. „The Door to Doom” ukazało się aż 7 lat po wcześniejszym krążku szwedzkich mistrzów doom metalu, czyli „Psalms for the Dead” z 2012 roku. Nawet w najtrudniejszych czasach zespołu, który zawieszał działalność, miał problem z wokalistami, prace nad nową muzyką nie zajmowały...
