Pewien zespół na H przyzwyczaił nas do bardzo melodyjnych, dość "spokojnych" płyt. Aż tu nagle pojawia się płytka nieco z innej beczki. Odstaje od standardowej muzyki Helloweena, jest zdecydowanie cięższa, głośniejsza i jakby mniej dyniowa.

Grupa Helloween, jedna z wciąż żywych legend power- i heavy- metalu, nagrała jedną z najlepszych, jeśli nie najlepszą płytę w swojej karierze. Stary, dobry heavy metal zaczyna znów wracać do łask. Nie przesadzę za bardzo, jeżeli powiem, że czekałem na ten album ponad dwa lata. Owszem, w międzyczasie Helloween wydali "Metal Jukebox", ale nie można tego wydawnictwa traktować jako pełnoprawnego albumu... Ot, taka niespodzianka dla fanów z okazji jubileuszu istnienia. Dlatego kiedy tylko dowiedziałem się o planowanym na koniec października nowym...

Dwa i pół roku trzeba było czekać na nowy, autorski album Helloween. Wszystkim tym, którym przypadł do gustu poprzedni krążek Niemców - "Better Than Raw" - mogę śmiało polecić jego następcę. "The Dark Ride" jest co prawda płytą ostrzejszą, ale mimo wszystko można spojrzeć na nią, jak na kontynuację poprzedniczki.
