Po wydaniu debiutanckiej płyty "The Karelian Isthmus", muzycy Amorphis wypłynęli na szerokie wody death metalowej sceny. Drugi album "Tales from the thousand lakes" potwierdził wielki kunszt kapeli. Pewnym zaskoczeniem dla fanów było przemycenie do muzyki folkowych wpływów północnej Europy. Album perfekcyjnie połączył elementy heavy metalu, doom/death...

Amorphis po raz pierwszy usłyszałem ponad dwa lata temu. Niestety żaden z albumów, które wtedy kupiłem ("Tales...", "Priviledge Of Evil", "Karelian Isthmus"), nie wzbudził we mnie żadnych "wyższych" uczuć. Trafiły na swoje miejsce do szuflady i powoli zacząłem o nich zapominać...
