Gregory Porter odebrał nagrodę Grammy za najlepszy jazzowy album wokalny 26 stycznia 2014 r. tuż przed Włodkiem Pawlikiem. Pokonał wówczas m.in. Cecile McLorin Salvant, która musiała poczekać dwa lata na swoją statuetkę. Ale nikt nie miał wtedy wątpliwości, że nagroda należy się właśnie Porterowi za płytę "Liquid Spirit".

Prawdziwy geniusz jazzowej wokalistyki – Gregory Porter, po znakomicie przyjętym, uhonorowanym Grammy „Liquid Spirit”, powraca z nową płytą – „Take Me To The Alley”. Porter prezentuje się na niej jako wirtuoz muzyki lekkiej i przyjemnej, przeznaczonej dla miłośników klasycznego jazzu środka.
