Kto jeszcze w ogóle słucha indie?" - z taką reakcją na wieść o nowym albumie Arctic Monkeys "Suck It And See" spotkałem się, rozmawiając z moim znajomym, niegdyś zagorzałym fanem tego gatunku. To chyba najlepsze podsumowanie tego, co stało się z wyznawcami tej topowej jeszcze parę lat temu muzyki.

Mieli świat muzyki indie pod nogami, mogli wszystko (wyniki sprzedaży dwóch pierwszych albumów Arctic Monkeys, wyższe niż zadłużenie Polskich Kolei Państwowych, mówią same za siebie, nawet jeżeli ktoś ma je za "rozhukane pierdolstwo").Wtedy rozwydrzony kwartet uderzył z prośbą do znanego z Queens of the Stone Age Josha Homme'a, zdradził setki tysięcy...

Spoglądając z politowaniem przez ramię na ostatnie dokonania lwiej części niedawnych indie-sensacji, jeszcze kilka lat temu kroczących dumnie w jednym szeregu z zespołem Alexa Turnera, mocniej docenimy wartość czwartego studyjnego albumu Arctic Monkeys.

Gorąca Kalifornia, nocne przejażdżki cadillakiem, zachody słońca na dzikich plażach i wszystko jakby trzy dekady temu. Do tego obowiązkowo muzyka puszczana z winyli, ale tylko pod warunkiem wcześniejszej rejestracji na taśmie magnetycznej. Tak właśnie w marcu Arcitc Monkeys zaprezentowali nadchodzący album utworem "Brick By Brick".
