Tytuł Stormbringer okazał się proroczy – w Deep Purple zanosiło się na burzę. Niestety, bynajmniej nie w sensie muzycznym. Jeśli ktoś spodziewał się kolejnej dawki porywającego hard rocka, mógł się mocno rozczarować. Lady Double Dealer i solidne riffowanie w utworze tytułowym to jedyne bardziej czadowe fragmenty zestawu.

Jestem świadomy tego, iż zapewne większość osób, zamierzających przeczytać tę recenzję, przetrze oczy ze zrozumienia, gdy zobaczy, jaką ocenę wystawiłem najbardziej zjechanej przez krytykę płycie Deep Purple - "Stormbringer". Ale co poradzę, że jest to jedno z moich ulubionych dokonań tego zespołu? Uważam, iż należy tego albumu bronić przed odsądzaniem...

„Stormbringer” to druga cześć dylogii nagranej w tym składzie, wydana w tym samym roku co „Burn”. Przez purpurowych ortodoksów oceniana jeszcze niżej niż poprzednia. I też niesłusznie.
