Sons Of Northern Darkness jest siódmym wydawnictwem Immortala. Jest to album odbiegający muzycznie od wcześniejszych dokonań grupy nie wliczając w to świetnego At The Heart Of The Winter. Ludziom posiadającym słabe pojęcie o grupie, Immortal najczęściej niestety kojarzy się z bezkompromisową sieczką i może rzeczywiście część dokonań tej kapeli taka...

Immortal nagrał kolejną, siódmą już płytę. Jeśli ktoś ma o tym zespole marne pojęcie, to od razu skojarzy go ze straszliwą blackmetalową sieką. A o tym albumie nie należy tak mówić. Bo owej sieki jest tylko ze 30%. Na "At The Heart Of The Winter" Immortal zaprezentował black, który nie jest ekstremalny, blisko mu do heavy metalu. Chociaż już w przeszłości...
