Błażej "White Raven" Obiała
Wszystkim fanom maidenowskich dźwięków chciałbym dziś przybliżyć na ile to możliwe moje uczucia związane z jedną płytą. Mam na myśli genialny, w pełni progresywny "Seventh Son Of Seventh Son". Album ten powstał w 1988 roku i nadal uważany jest za jeden z najlepszych w dorobku "Żelaznej Dziewicy".

Najbardziej kontrowersyjny album Maiden. Dla niektórych - ostateczny dowód na to, że zespół zjadł własny ogon, dla innych (w tym i dla mnie) - prawdziwa doskonałość. Ciekawe, że sami muzycy pytani o ulubioną pozycję w dyskografii grupy, od lat wskazują właśnie na longplay numer siedem.

Czasem jest tak, że to nie ta najbardziej kultowa czy tez uważana przez ogół za najlepszą płyta jest naszym ulubionym albumem danego wykonawcy. Powodów może być wiele, jednym z nich jest sentyment. Nierzadko bywa że to płyta dzięki której poznaliśmy zespół, ewentualnie album który wpłynął na nas w pewnym momencie w życiu.

Garfield
Rok 1988 był dla Iron Maiden rokiem szczególnym. 11 kwietnia ukazała się płyta przez wielu uważana za apogeum możliwości zespołu. Entuzjaści mianowali ją największym dziełem londyńczyków. Gdy po wydaniu "Powerslave" pojawiły się głosy, że Iron Maiden kopiują na kolejnych płytach samych siebie, Dziewica odpowiedziała tak, jak powinno się to robić - nie pustymi słowami, tylko czynami. Ich następna płyta "Somewhere In Time" była w swoim klimacie i stylistyce zupełnie inna od poprzedniczek. Ale, jak się potem okazało, to była dopiero rozgrzewka...

Koncept-album "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son" to według mnie zdecydowanie najlepsze dzieło zespołu Iron Maiden, a zarazem jeden z najwybitniejszych albumów heavy-metalowych wszech czasów. "Żelazna dziewica" w końcu przeszła "okres dojrzewania", stała się świadoma swojej potęgi i pokazała światu na co napawdę ją stać. Jej nowe "dziecko" - siódmy syn siódmego...
