Krążek został nagrany w LS Studios w Yorkshire, a za produkcję odpowiadali sam Biff Byford, wokalista zespołu, i Andy Sneap.  Muzycy zapowiadają, że zawartość albumu to dziesięć najcięższych i najmocniejszych utworów, jakie nagrali w ostatnich kilkunastu latach. Biff Byford chyba zaprzedał duszę Rogatemu, a w cyrografie zapisano, że Saxon będzie jak wino: im starszy, tym lepszy. Ikona brytyjskiego metalu nie zwalnia tempa i nie spuszcza z tonu. „Sacrifice” to bez dwóch zdań jeden z diamentów w ich bogatej dyskografii.

Sacrifice" to dwudziesty longplay w trwającej ponad trzy dekady karierze Saxon. Takim wynikiem nie może się pochwalić ani rozpoczynający działalność w tym samym okresie Iron Maiden (oba zespoły wywodzą się z nurtu Nowej Fali Brytyjskiego Heavy Metalu), ani nawet klasycy, pokroju Deep Purple czy Black Sabbath, którzy zaczynali "hałasować" dekadę wcześniej....
