Płytą Sting In The Tail podnieśli sobie nadspodziewanie wy­soko poprzeczkę. I choć później przekonywali, że się wypalili, to jednak oczekiwania związane z płytą Return To Forever były duże. Nawet jeśli w założeniu miało to być tylko odgrzanie starych pomysłów, porzuconych przed laty.

Gdy w 2010 roku zespół Scorpions ogłosił zakończenie kariery, recenzenci i fani grupy byli w niemałym szoku – hardrockowa supergrupa wydała właśnie bardzo dobry krążek Sting in the Tail, który został dobrze odebrany przez publiczność. Na szczęście muzycy nie zamierzali przejść na emeryturę: bardzo szybko wrócili do występów na żywo oraz nagrywania nowej...

Opublikowany w 2010 roku album Sting In The Tail miał być ostatnim autorskim materiałem legend hard rocka. Rok później Panowie niepotrzebnie wydali nowe wersje własnych hitów oraz kilka coverów na płycie zatytułowanej Comeblack. Pomimo deklaracji zespołu, iż Sting In The Tail jest ostatnim dziełem z nowymi kompozycjami, muzycy wydali nowy longplay....

To już 50 lat! Taką właśnie okrągłą rocznicę działalności obchodzą Scorpionsi w tym roku. Okazja wspaniała, by udać się w trasę - ta zawita też do Polski, a konkretnie do Łodzi - albo za sprawą zgrabnej kompilacji przypomnieć swoje największe hity. Ale panowie uznali najwyraźniej, że choć to pora dobra na wspominki, to nic tak nie podgrzeje atmosfery...

Tej płyty w zasadzie miało nie być. Pięć lat temu legenda niemieckiego rocka ogłosiła zakończenie kariery. Od tego czasu zdążyła wydać … trzy albumy. Jednak w odróżnieniu od „Comeblack” i zapisu akustycznego koncertu dla MTV w Atenach, „Return To Forever” przynosi wyłącznie premierowy materiał.
