Pierwszy album studyjny ze Steve’em Morse’em zaczyna się ostrą, połamaną partią gitary. I już od wstępu do Vavoom: Ted The Mechanic wiadomo, że będzie dobrze, lepiej, niż można było oczekiwać.

Można było mieć spore obawy odnośnie tego albumu. Ritchie Blackmore - lider, główny kompozytor i gitarzysta, obecny na niemal wszystkich studyjnych płytach Deep Purple (jedynie na "Come Taste The Band" grał Tommy Bollin) odchodzi z zespołu i to raczej definitywnie. Jego następcę, Steve'a Morse'a czekało doprawdy trudne zadanie, zwłaszcza, że dysponował...
