Pierwsza płyta zespołu, z której Harris był (i nadal jest) w pełni zadowolony. I łatwo to zrozumieć. Piece Of Mind utrzymuje poziom najlepszych utworów z poprzedniego albumu, a przy tym nie ma ani jednego „wypełniacza”.

Hm, gdyby na początku lat 90. ktoś mi przepowiedział, że za około dwadzieścia lat będę z przyjemnością nie tylko słuchać płyt Iron Maiden, ale też o nich pisać, jako żywo, nie uwierzyłbym. Ba, gdybym jeszcze w pierwszych miesiącach 2009 roku usłyszał, że niebawem nie tylko zacznę słuchać muzykę Iron Maiden, lecz i zaopatrzę się we wszystkie albumy studyjne...

Po nieoczekiwanym sukcesie "The Number Of The Beast" Iron Maiden niemal z dnia na dzień z jednego z wielu zespołów Nowej Fali Brytyjskiego Heavy Metalu stał się megagwiazdą grywającą na największych salach koncertowych świata i zespołem na absolutnym szczycie metalowej góry. W związku z tym potrzebna była jeszcze płyta, która ugruntowałaby ostatecznie...

Po wielkim sukcesie "The Number Of The Beast" Iron Maiden stanęli przed trudnym zadaniem - nagrać płytę, która dorówna poprzedniczce. "Piece Of Mind" ukazała się rok po Liczbie Bestii i w moim odczuciu nie tylko jej dorównała, ale nawet ją przebiła. Nowy człowiek z pałeczkami, czyli Nicko McBrain, okazał się strzałem w dziesiątkę, co pokazuje znakomicie...
