Końcówka lat 80-tych była dla Europe szczęściem w nieszczęściu bowiem z jednej strony odnieśli ogromny suckes płytą „The Final Countdown” (singiel był numerem jeden w 25 krajach, a sam krążek rozszedł się w nakładzie ponad 8 milionów egzemplarzy), a z drugiej pojawiło się oczywiste parcie na stworzenie następcy na przynajmiej podobnym poziomie.
