Płytę "Oracular Spectacular" wyprodukował Dave Fridman, mający na koncie pracę nad przełomowymi albumami Mercury Rev "Deserter`s Songs" i The Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots". Z MGMT udało mu się zachować klimat tamtych dzieł, a jednocześnie uwypuklić chwytliwą melodykę piosenek duetu.

Kiedy nowojorski duet The Management wydał swój pierwszy album Climbing To New Lows był jak zupełnie nieoszlifowany diament. I właściwie trudno się dziwić. Za to po kilku latach, kiedy zainteresowała się nim mająca najwyraźniej niezłego nosa poważniejsza wytwórnia Columbia Records, pojawiła się (tym razem już pod szyldem MGMT) płyta, która wywarła wrażenie...

Jakoś na początku roku jeden ziomal podesłał mi dwa linki głosząc, że to będą tegoroczne rewelacje. Jeden z nich prowadził na MySpace Vampire Weekend, które okazało się zupełnie nie moją bajką i nawet nie próbuję tego oceniać, bo to zdecydowanie nie moja drużyna. Z kolei drugi odnośnik zawiódł mnie na profil MGMT, gdzie odsłuchałem sobie wszystkie dostępne...
