Fenomen i zaskakujący rozwój Septic Flesh można w pewnym stopniu porównać z metamorfozą, jaką przeszedł Dimmu Borgir. Obydwa zespoły początkowo grały nieco zjadliwą (co nie znaczy, że złą) muzykę, nie wnoszącą nic nowego do metalu, aż w końcu karta się obróciła i w twórczości obu formacji nastąpił przełom. Stało się to na trzecich albumach w dyskografii...
