The Flaming Lips to jedna z tych grup, od których można oczekiwać nieoczekiwanego. Przez trzydzieści lat działalności zespół nie przestaje zaskakiwać. Tym razem zaskoczenie było jeszcze większe, szczególnie dla nas Polaków, bo ich najnowsza płyta ma swojsko brzmiący tytuł "Oczy mlody".

Gdy w 1986 roku debiutowali albumem Hear It Is, zapewne niewielu spodziewało się, że ich ponad trzydziestoletnia wyprawa muzyczna dotrze do punktu o swojsko brzmiącej nazwie Oczy Mlody. Wydać płytę opartą o książkę to jedno, ale nadać jej tytuł, który brzmi jak nazwa narkotyku (a przynajmniej tak twierdzi lider zespołu! sic!), to już historia nieco...

Oczy mlody? Brzmi jak nazwa porządnie trzepiącego narkotyku!" - taka myśl mogła pojawić się w umyśle członka grupy Flaming Lips. Argument w niej zawarty był na tyle przekonujący, że muzycy postanowili właśnie tak nazwać swój najnowszy, czternasty już album.
