Po prawie dwudziestu latach istnienia złośliwi mogliby twierdzić, że jedynym źródłem inspiracji Katatonii w pisaniu pozbawionych nadziei liryków jest ich twórcza niemoc. Nic bardziej mylnego, gdyż rok 2009 Katatonia postanowiła zamknąć jednym ze swoich najlepszych albumów w dyskografii, zdecydowanym faworytem do tytułu albumu roku.

Wytykanie mankamentów lubię zazwyczaj mieć szybko za sobą, tym bardziej jeśli na celownik biorę tak wyśmienity materiał, jak "Night Is The New Day" Katatonii. Więc jedziemy z koksem. Po pierwsze: "The Longest Year". Linia melodyczna z początku nieodparcie kojarzy mi się ze zwrotką "My Twin". Być może to takie świadome nawiązanie do poprzedniej płyty,...

Tak wiem, rewolucje, jakie zachodziły w muzyce mrocznych Szwedów z Katatonii, gdzieś od końcówki drugiej połowy lat 90-tych, to już dla nikogo żadne niespodzianki. Ale cóż, jako stary skurwiel zataczam się na parkiecie rozkładając wkładkę kasetki "Jhva Elohim Meth" (1992), a zaraz potem "Night Is The New Day" (2009). Ucieczka z lasu do dyskoteki? Zamiana...

Katatonia – zaburzenie motoryki objawiające się bardzo niskim poziomem aktywności ruchowej lub jej nadmiarem. Ciekawe jaki procent liczby fanów Katatonii o tym wie.

Zmieniła nam się Katatonia na przestrzeni tych lat, zmieniła. Panowie wydorośleli, młodzieńczy bunt zastąpiła melancholia i zaduma. "Night is the New Day" to ósmy krążek tej formacji i z całą stanowczością mogę stwierdzić, że to pozycja ze wszech miar udana.
