W momencie szczytu popularności kultury rave w Wielkiej Brytanii w latach 90., Jamie Smith pląsał co najwyżej wśród przedszkolnych zabawek. Słuchacze elektroniki nie mają konkretnych oczekiwań wobec swoich ulubieńców. Nikt nie wiem czego można się spodziewać po artystach reprezentujących ten nurt muzyczny. Czas napisać kilka słów "w przypadku wypadku" Jamiego xx, kolesia parającego się (jak dotąd) głównie obsługą konsolety w The xx, kolesia remiksującego Gila Scotta, ale też na przykład Radiohead czy Adele, wreszcie kolesia, którego samplował Drake w tytułowym numerze na Take Care. Aż tu nagle, zupełnie niepostrzeżenie, zrobiła się afera wokół jego debiutu....
