Grupa Social Distortion, której początki sięgają końca lat 70., w swojej twórczości zawsze skłaniała się w stronę łączenia punku z rockowym mainstreamem. Rebeliancki duch jednak nigdy nie zaginął w tekstach pisanych przez wokalistę i gitarzystę Mike'a Nessa – jedynego, który ostał się z pierwotnego składu.
