Jestem cyniczną świnią i bardzo często postrzegam wydawnictwa muzyczne przez pryzmat chęci zysku, rozumianego nie tylko jako suto obładowane konto, ale także ogólnie pojętą estymę słuchaczy i zaspokojenie swych palących ambicji. Wszelkie pozytywne aspekty i niewątpliwe piękno wielu albumów traktuję raczej jako nader przyjemny efekt uboczny. Są jednak...

Gdyby ktoś niezorientowany w muzyce zapytał mnie: Co to takiego rock gotycki? - puściłbym mu właśnie ten album. "Elizium" - dwie dekady od premiery - wciąż pozostaje (zaryzykuję, a niech tam..) najlepszą płytą, jaką ów gatunek wydał na świat. Po prostu kwintesencją i definicją stylu..

Jak brzmieliby Pink Floydzi, gdyby grali gothic rocka? "Elizium", trzeci i powszechnie uważany za najwybitniejszy album w dorobku Fields of the Nephilim, zdaje się być doskonałą odpowiedzią na to pytanie. Nie tylko dlatego, że nad jego produkcją czuwał Andy Jackson, inżynier dźwięku, który brał udział przy nagrywaniu "The Final Cut", "A Momentary Lapse...
