Najnowsza solowa płyta 76-letniego Paula McCartneya jest najlepszym dowodem na to, że wiek w zawodzie muzyka nie ma większego znaczenia, a zdobyte doświadczenie często działa tylko na korzyść.

Sir Paul McCartney nie spieszy się z wydawaniem kolejnych albumów pod własnym nazwiskiem, z premierowym, autorskim materiałem. Po "New" na jeszcze nowszy materiał trzeba było czekać prawie pół dekady. Jego tytuł - "Egypt Station" - mógł sugerować, że kierowany będzie do miłośników kolei lub kultury kraju faraonów. Oczywiście nie trzeba było traktować...

Powiedzieć, że Paul McCartney jest legendą muzyki rockowej, to jakby nie powiedzieć nic. Prawda jest bowiem taka, że ten cieszący się powszechną sympatią 76-latek z Liverpoolu należy do ścisłego grona osób, których nazwiska definiują współczesne brzmienia w takim samym stopniu, jak nazwiska Mozarta, Chopina czy Beethovena zdefiniowały muzykę klasyczną....

Pierwsza płyta The Beatles ukazała się 55 lat temu, czyli minęło już ponad pół wieku od poważnego debiutu fonograficznego Paula McCartneya, a ten kompletnie ignoruje znaczy upływ czasu. Absolutnie nie psuje mu odgrywanie nobliwej osobistości popkultury odcinającej kupony od swojej artystycznej przeszłości, niedostępnej dla wielu jego naśladowców. Mało...
