Brytyjski Bastille należy dziś do absolutnego muzycznego topu. Dwa wcześniejsze albumy grupy sprzedały się na świecie w nakładzie 8 mln egzemplarzy, a streamingi ich piosenek przekroczyły liczbę 6,5 miliarda. W rodzimej Wielkiej Brytanii wszystkie albumy debiutowały na pierwszym miejscu listy sprzedaży, a w Stanach Zjednoczonych w Top 10.

Trochę ponad pół roku po wydaniu swojego trzeciego albumu studyjnego Doom Days, zespół zaskoczył swoich fanów, jego wersją rozszerzoną. Jednak czy jest warta uwagi?

Frontman Bastille zapowiadając trzecią płytę kwartetu, porównał ją do pozytywnej wiadomości wysyłanej w świat, który stoi nad przepaścią. Pomimo tego, że wokół nas jest tyle zła, politycy nas zawodzą, a zmiany klimatyczne mogą odmienić nasz dotychczasowy sposób życia, musimy próbować być szczęśliwi tu i teraz. Jeżeli spotkaliście się z opinią, że Bastille wciąż gra jeden i ten sam utwór, czyli „Things We Lost in the Fire”, to najnowsza płyta tylko potwierdza tę opinię. Na szczęście Anglicy, porównywani w dodatku do supergrupy Coldplay, grają tę swoją firmową melodię zarówno na tyle sprawnie i sprytnie, że ich wizja konfekcyjnego popu w sam raz na stadiony...
