Na Diary Of A Madman nastąpiło idealne zgranie czynników potrzebnych do stworzenia świetnej rockowej płyty: są tu wyborne, żywiołowo wykonane kompozycje, a muzycy idą na całość, zupełnie jakby przeczuwali, że następna płyta w tym składzie już nigdy nie powstanie. Soczyste i klarowne brzmienie przekonuje natomiast, że głos Ozzy’ego nie musi się kojarzyć...
