Kiedy w 2005 roku do grupy powrócili gitarzysta Alex Skolnick i basista Greg Christian, Testament nagrał album "The Formation of Damniation", na którym wrócił do swoich thrashowych korzeni, niemal całkowicie rezygnując z death metalowych wpływów, które pojawiły się na albumie "Low" z 1994 roku (pierwszym bez Skolnicka, ostatnim z Christianem) i dominowały...

Oto jest nowy Testament. "Dark Roots Of Earth" wychodzi cztery lata po udanym krążku "The Formation Of Damnation". Z tego, co mówi w filmie o powstawaniu płyty mózg kapeli, czyli Eric Peterson, wynika że zespół wcale nie cierpiał na nadmiar gotowych piosenek zanim prace nad płytą ruszyły pełną parą. Dobrze więc, że Testament zabrał się wreszcie do roboty...

Żywa legenda amerykańskiego thrashu – grupa Testament – powraca z długo wyczekiwanym następcą chłodno przyjętego „The Formation Of Damnation” z 2008 roku. Na ich nowe dzieło przyszło nam trochę poczekać – na szczęście nie aż 9 lat, jak to miało miejsce w przypadku następcy genialnego „The Gathering”.
