Weteran (rocznik 1946) z Holandii przypomina o sobie pierwszym od ośmiu lat albumem z premierowym materiałem. Jan Akkerman już zawsze kojarzony będzie z działalnością w zespole Focus (wcześniej występował też w zasłużonej dla holenderskiego rocka formacji Brainbox), ale ma również bogatą dyskografię solową. „Close Beauty” pokazuje go jako muzyka twórczego,...

Nowa muzyka Jana Akkermana jest elegancka jak dowód matematyczny i wdzięczna niczym para tancerzy pogrążona w bezrozumnym tańcu. I choć w swojej frywolnej i fragmentarycznej formie miewa pewne niedostatki, to „Close Beauty” jest jednocześnie lekturą obowiązkową dla każdego fascynata gitary.
