Pierwszym skojarzeniem, jakie przychodzi do głowy, kiedy pada określenie "technika slide" jest widok muzyka "ślizgającego" po strunach gitary rurką założoną na palec. W przypadku Sonny Landretha ten opis jest zbyt uproszczony.
