Kid Rock wypłynął w połowie lat 90. na fali popularności rap-metalu, z czasem jednak przeistoczył się w prawdziwego rockmana. Na nowej płycie "Born Free" nie ma w nim już nic z dawnego beztroskiego dzieciaka.
