33 lata na karku i dziesięć albumów na koncie - to musi robić wrażenie. Joe Bonamassa nie próżnuje. Po wydaniu w zeszłym roku bardzo dobrej, bluesrockowej płyty "The Ballad Of John Henry" a zaraz później zapisu w formacie DVD koncertu z Royal Albert Hall, gitarzysta od razu wkroczył do studia, by zarejestrować nowy materiał.

Gitarzysta, który w wieku 7 lat grał utwory młodszego Vaughana i Hendrixa, a w wieku 12 lat otworzył koncert B.B. Kinga, musi żyć z wielkimi wymaganiami i presją. Nie inaczej było teraz, rok po wydaniu "Ballads of John Henry". "Black Rock" to twór dojrzały, prawdziwie męski, jednocześnie nietuzinkowy. Joe Bonamassa, bo o nim mowa, zaprezentował na w.w....
