Cofnijmy się 70 lat wstecz. Był rok 1949, jazzowe orkiestry miały okres największego rozkwitu za sobą, ale nadal były bardzo popularne. Te najlepsze występowały w coraz większych salach koncertowych, a także w radiu. Jednak na pierwszy plan wychodziły już mniejsze zespoły jazzowe, grające w nowym stylu nazywanym be-bop.

Są płyty, które starzeją się szybko i takie, dla których upływ czasu jest łaskawy. Są też płyty, które nie starzeją się wcale. Takich właśnie propozycji poszukuję w intensywnej eksploracji muzycznych staroci. Dziś mogę z pełną satysfakcją powiedzieć, że moje wysiłki – wznowione po dłuższej przerwie – zakończyły się sukcesem. Oto przed Wami Miles Davis...
