Zespół Placebo, znany od 15 lat z dostarczania swoim fanom słodko-gorzkich piosenek, zupełnie jak w tytule swojego szóstego albumu "Battle For The Sun" walczy o słońce. Dźwięki stały się bardziej pogodne, a uwielbiany głównie przez żeńską część publiczności lider, Brian Molko, nawet o tych gorszych stronach życia śpiewa z uśmiechem.

Dziś są uznawani za jeden z istotniejszych zespołów grających szeroko pojęty rock alternatywny. Ciężko powiedzieć, by było to byle co, bo grupą Placebo zachwycił się sam David Bowie, który to zabrał muzyków ze sobą w trasę koncertową jeszcze zanim wydali jakąkolwiek płytę, następnie zaprosił ich na swoje urodziny, aż wreszcie zaproponował, by nagrali...

Muzyka rockowa już od dawna prezentuje coraz to nowsze i bardziej przemyślane formy, a czas na proste kwintowe riffy, szesnastkowy bas i gdzieś tam w oddali pobrzmiewający wokal bez wyrazu - dawno się już skończył. Niestety zespół Placebo nadal gra w taki sposób.

Trzynaście piosenek nagranych na kanadyjskiej ziemi we współpracy z nowym pałkerem - Stevem Forrestem (eks Evaline), wszystko pod czujnym okiem Davida Bottrilla, producenta płyt takich gwiazd, jak Tool czy Muse. W taki sposób można lakonicznie przedstawić nowy album zespołu Placebo - zatytułowany "Battle for the Sun".

Nie powiem, że nie czekałem na nową płytę Placebo. Bo czekałem. A jakże. Aż się głupio przyznać, że czekam z utęsknieniem na nową płytę jakiegoś komercyjnego, seksualnie zdezorientowanego bandu, a nie na przykład na nową płytę Riverside. Po pierwsze nie z utęsknieniem, bo tylko czekałem, po drugie na nowe Riverside też czekałem. Miałbym sobie odmówić...
