W połowie kwietnia sonda kosmiczna Voyager 1 zakończyła obserwację Jowisza, a pod koniec maja do kin wszedł film "Obcy - 8 pasażer Nostromo". Te wydarzenia miały miejsce w 1979 roku. Pomiędzy nimi zadebiutowała kapela Saxon.
