The Jam to jedna z grup wręcz unurzanych w brytyjskiej tradycji muzyki rockowej. Wystarczy wspomnieć, że łączy w sobie pewne cechy stylistyczne zapożyczone od The Who, The Rolling Stones, prawdopodobnie również Beatlesów, by skończyć na punkowej rewolucji z końcówki lat 70., przede wszystkim The Clash.
